Other than the 3rd channel, is there a difference between the g100cl and the 100clx?

Mine is a rev 2, leather handle, revision 2 board and all, but number 127. I have heard a million different theories about some leaving the factory with leftover parts, them trying different parts on different models. Ive heard anywhere from 110 to 170 even, so again... who knows.

Welcome. i didnt care for the kt77's, even though those are usually my go to tubes of choice. I toyed with a bunch of el34 variants until I settled on 6l6cc's. It finally gave me the tone that i have been hearing in my head for years.

I actually toyed with the air switch today. It's more of a middle high boost, but not really a boost if that makes sense. I guess it's just a frequency shifter.

Yes. As well as on the red and clean channel. To me, the variac switch is the best feature. It's awesome to be able to get the thump and sound of the tubes at a decent stage volume.
