I am adding a little bit of context here: for live use (whenever I play with friends outside home) I use a Quad Cortex + Fryette 2:50:2 in whatever cabs I have available OR I bring my own. So live is just plain stereo or mono.

Where did you hear or read about this Nuno/Ed's amps story? Were they not the same?? I always thought the build quality of Peavey 5150/6505s in general was not particularly expensive, but having a "public" version and an "artist" version was not cool....
