Your thoughts on the TAD 6L6GC-STR..........

Thinking about a retube for my recently repaired 5150 II. I never got to try the TAD 6L6GC-STR so I thought I might give it a go this time around. Any opinions on the TAD? They would be matched up with Tung-Sol reissues in V1 through V5 and a Sovtek LPS in the PI slot.

    Mixing different 4x12 cab sizes...........

I've got a chance to pick up a locally owned Boogie traditional 4x12 at an excellent price. Way too good to pass up actually. So I'm going to jump on it. But I've never run different size 4x12's in a full stack. My other cab is a Boogie "over-sized" Recto 4x12. I know there is no issues as far...

Difference between ESP V and Jackson King V body shape/size?

Can someone who has owned/played both tell me the main differences between the two. As far as over-all size goes. Is one wider tip to tip than the other? Or one body longer in over all length? Which is the more compact V? Thanks. Eric

What is "the" current production 6L6 right now???????

Looks like I may have a bad power tube in my 5150 II. The amp blew the main fuse. When I put a new main in and turned the amp on it blew one of the internal fuses. I'm getting power to the tube heaters, but no standby or output. Hopefully it's just a power tube issue and I won't need a tech. So...

    Anyone using an ISP G-String with a 5150 II/6505+

Getting ready to rebuild my pedal board and thought I would try a new noise reduction pedal. I'm really interested in the ISP Decimator G String. I could catch both the front end of the amp and the f/x loop noise. That's 100% win in my book. But I seem to remember hearing something back when...

Questions about reported Herbert reliability issues.

I have a chance to buy a Herbert head, which will be the biggest gear purchase I've ever made. The only reason I even have a chance to purchase this amp is due to a personal injury and the subsequent workers comp settlement I'll be getting. This is a once in a lifetime chance and I want to be...

Anyone know anything about a Randall RG100 Classic head??

I stopped in at my local mom and pop and my man had a good condition RG100 Classic head sitting in the corner. Marked at $199.00. I didn`t get a chance to check it out, but it was in really good shape. I`m thinking about taking my cab in and trying it out. Might make a good back up for the 5150...
