    Wasted Years -Isolated Guitars

Maiden is an amazing band. The guitars are always worth learning, BOTH PARTS. I love this one, Adrian killed it on this (he wrote this one) and some of that nuanced chording is really important to the feel of the tune. Saw them recently at PowerTrip. Unfortunately they didn't play the classics...

New Judas Priest track is a fuckin' BANGER!

Priest is the REAL DEAL. They were amazing at PowerTrip, really stole the night. Halford is still killin' it and Ritchie brings the METAL :rawk:

    Halftime show

I didn't mind half time. Mainly because I literally turned off the TV and took the dog for a walk, rather than listening or watching another halftime extravaganza

I played two seconds of my new EQ pedal. Amazing! Ive been in a cave

Agreed, I do like the option of the boost (not too much), but it's great as an EQ either way. I don't really think of it as a LEAD boost, but rather a way to add different flavors with an alt EQ setting and a little push. Maybe I need to try some more things.

Definitely enjoy the EQ in the loop. Anybody use/try the Archer Rockaway in front? 6 band EQ and a little gain bump as well, if needed. Steve Stevens was using this one. Turns out it's a cool pedal.

Is the Axe FX III that much better than an XL+ II?

I understand this is RigTalk, so it's not just about Fractal, I just use the Axe III and the FM9, so here's a little more. Not sure who said the FM9 is a different sound...that's simply false. As I understand it, it's literally the same architecture, but whatever. I LOVE my FM9 and use it when...

Is the Axe FX III that much better than an XL+ II?

First, yes, the modeling is better. Second, the AXE II is a great unit as well and if you don't need the latest and greatest or see the need for more processing power, then you could surely be happy with that. Third, I've been using the AXE III and have Splawn heads as well. The AXE III does do...

    This is killer..

Just saw Priest at POWERTRIP last weekend. They were AMAZEBALLS!! :rawk: They set the bar LONG ago and arguably some of the best METAL still seeps from the veins of JUDAS PRIEST. Halford was excellent and Glenn joined in for the last tunes. Ritchie Faulkner is the real deal. It was a great...

    4th of July gig

Congrats, looks like fun!! You guys have a good look up front, however that bass player needs some style advise, geez...he looks like he's headed for the granola fest, not playing the blues/rock fest. Just sayin' :dunno: Rock on Brent :m17:

So the EVH forum isn't all a-buzz over this???

I hear what many are saying... No one will be Edward because they own ANY amp. Edward had "his" tone, and amps are fickle beasts. Also, I recently watched the videos of the new Boss EVH dual delay and HOLY Crap, dry, the amp sounds MEH, throw on the pedal and it's literally night and day. This...

    Stage volume

At this point we ALL are on in-ear monitors. No stage volume whatsoever. There is a wedge for the vocalist, as he likes to interact with the crowd and needs to hear guitar and keys, as well as his voice. Honestly, never been happier. I do understand Racer's comment, yet competing with the drums...
