It’s interesting what changing the slope resister value can do. I just went the other way on my 2204 JMP (56 back to 33). I had some general maintenance done too, but that was the only value change. The amp definitely sounds more present in the mids than before, which I like but I can see why...

Same - it’s a shame, because they were one of my favourite bands as a teenager. The pre-Dookie stuff, Dookie and Insomniac I still like, but I increasingly dislike their newer stuff.

He sure does. Just swapped out the 53/10 pickups in my PRS for the other halves of the Rewind sets that I didn’t use in my lemon burst LP (so there’s now a Rewind A3 in the bridge and an A2 in the neck). That PRS is sounding way better to my ears now.

I like all of mine for different reasons, but the two I’ve probably played the most to date are these: The one on the right is a 2011 ‘59 reissue with a Rewind A3 in the neck and a Rewind A2 in the bridge. The one on the left is a 2017 ‘59 reissue with two Rewind A4 pickups.

A low wind A2 magnet if you want some give / sag. I find A3 a bit tighter, then A4 then A5. I find A2 has more of a growl on single notes, A4 more of a howl and A3 is in between. Not a huge fan of A5s generally so can’t recall where they sit tonally. I’ve Rewind pickups in half my guitars and...

I’d say Paranoid overall, but I love NIB and The Wizard from the first album. My current favourite of the early albums is (just) SBS, followed very closely by Vol 4 which in turn is just ahead of MoR. But it’s very, very close and can change. The rawness of MOR is awesome and the riffs on Sweet...

Really sad news - really enjoyed his playing and what he brought to the band generally over the years.

Klon KTR or Maxon OD808X for me. OD808X for more teeth or KTR for more thickness. That said, just saw a bunch of recommendations for the Koko Boost Googled to see what prices are doing and found an original at a good price - now on its way to me. Damn this forum 😂
