If you're unsure, I would recommend picking one up used from a forum user or reverb even. At least you won't have to eat the depreciation if you're not happy with it.
I haven't played a Nitro, but my quickrod is badass. That probably also depends on the kind of music you play. Best of luck!

I've wanted a quickrod for about a decade now, and I'm finally in a financial spot to pull the trigger on something. Just curious if anybody has tried a quickrod with 6550 tubes and how it differs from el34s in that amp. Wondering if it opens up the highs a bit?
