Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

Any amp that doesn’t work for you, can be accused of being overrated.

Nice!! This is my long time favorite demo video of a cranked Plexi.

At ~1:39 Mr.Jabs shows a bit of the technique up close.

Modded Marshall or Mesa 2ch Rectifier

For me, it was the modded Marshall sound. I liked my ‘97 Triple Rectifier(that I bought new), but after 25 years, I didn’t love it. It wasn’t the sound I was after. Sold it, and bought a Bogner Helios which I love.

    Any tone talk watchers?

Yeah; the Soldano episode was killer. I love when they get out into the weeds about amps and how they work.

    Any tone talk watchers?

Some of the episodes have been ridiculously good. (Jake E Lee when Dave and Jake were pretty hammered, the George Lynch episode, and the Jeff Pilson/George Lynch episode, the Bob Bradshaw episode, the ones with John Suhr)

What a classic song that has a superior live version ?

    Too many to list.

What guitar are you playing today?

Playing the Kami-4. It’s finally set up properly, and plays as well as expected.

    Peavey combo at 160 watts

LOUD as f_ck. And positively horrible sounding. I wouldn’t pay more than $100 for one of those late-70s Peavey amps. However… Could be good as a pedal platform amp. Especially if you’re doing doomy stuff.
