Ah!
My apologies.
I’m using the old VHT Valvulator, not the new modeling version.
The one I’m using is the old one that sorta is brick shaped. It’s just a 12ax7 tube powered buffer.
I use a VHT/Fryette Valvulator out in front of the AxeFX iii.(the older model that is a line buffer and power supply for a pedalboard)
I’m not certain how to explain it, but the Valvulator is introducing some sort of “element” to the signal chain that makes the AxeFX feel more like playing...
I think that was the ‘92 tour for the second Lynch Mob album. I saw them down in Costa Mesa on that tour. I thought it was weird that George used both a PRS and a Les Paul at certain points in the show.(Les Paul during their cover of “Tie Your Mother Down”)
I’ve been a big Vai fanboy since the “Flexsble” album came out. This period of his career is my favorite. Just ridiculous.
Flexable, Alcatrazz, The Epidemics, PIL, Crossroads, DLR
I’ve been a Marty fan since that first Cacophony album. He’s a fantastic player.
The auto wah/filter trick is interesting.
I still think his clean tone on the “Scenes” album is second only to Eric Johnson’s clean tone from the ACL’88 show.
The solo has a cool slippery feel to it.
Jeez, really well constructed melody.
Yeah, the tones aren’t fantastic, but they worked
in the context of the mix.
