I also didn't know the Deluxe amps were designed to be more aggressive. I'm assuming some of you find that increase in aggression to destroy the great tone of the BE. Dave claims the BE-50 Deluxe is the best amp he's built. Depends what he means by best amp.

I will say that not all Marshall based amps are dark and smooth. My Shiva 20th with EL34s is angry and pissed of and plenty bright. I have to pull back the treble.

What's the live of the EL34II? More fullness? I did have JJ 6CA7 tubes in my Shiva but have switched to EH EL34s because to me they sound warm and vintage with aggression in the mids. Sounds angry. The 6CA7s were more 6L6 sounding with lows and extended highs. Not as aggressive in the mids.

I'm not sure. My buddy ordered a Nitro with a lot of options like the B+ but was hoping it would have a master volume.since it doesn't he uses the loop master but it works great.

Thanks! I only ask because I've talked to a few people who said their Nitro has no master vume, only a loop volume which they use as master. Maybe the master is as of a certain year?

I hadn't realized these amps do not have a master volume. Is that to allow it to have a more traditional Marshall design and performance? I assume it's difficult to use at home volumes.
