Looking at my Karnivores and V30s, the dust caps are the same size.

I keep that cab at my practice space but I can do that the next time I bring it home.

Appreciate the comments fellas!! Yeah the plan for the next band recordings will be to blend the 100s, mark V, and my other guitar players powerball 2. We’ll see what that ends up looking like. I’ll be keeping a cab with v30s/RBs so I’ll still be able to have those sounds when needed.

Been using Reaper since 2010. I've paid for the license twice in that time based on their 2 full version license policy. Well worth it. Will pay again. But you don't have to pay.

I like Redbacks quite a bit, and will likely keep one cab with the V30/RB combo just for that variety, but my other 2 cabs are moving over to Karnivores.

I could see this happening. Personally, I've never liked V30s and always sought alternatives. I've actually only been using them since I got my first Mesa cab, maybe 3 years ago, and my feelings about them haven't changed. They're so ingrained in everything metal that I can definitely see a lot...

They do blend really well.

If you combine RBs and V30s, you kinda get closer to the Karnivore. So I'd say the Karnivore is more aggressive and tighter than the Redbacks. Redbacks low end is slightly bloomy and even smoother than the Karnivore.

It was set the same. I actually used 2 SM57s and recorded both at the same time.

That extended low end gets me going! I used Eminence Legends for years, until I got my first Mesa cab about 3 years ago or so. The V30s were doing what I wanted better, but I wasn't really a fan of using them. Glad to have these, for sure.
