I can pick up a used GCX/Ground Control locally for a pretty good price, but I’m weighing my options.
My amp has midi built in.
My needs are pretty straight forward. I want to be able to run basic effects in front of the amp (wah, vibe, phase, chorus, maybe some other stuff if I get bored)...
It’s been awhile. If I remember correctly the last time I hung out here someone was having a mental
breakdown and the forum was imploding. It seems to have settled down now...
Anyway, I recently traded in some unused gear and picked up a second TC-50. I’m probably going to
have some...
Anyone use one? General thoughts/opinions? Anyone compare it to the thiele cab?
For reference, I'm talking about the original, deeper Recto 1x12 and not the thinner Mini-Recto 1x12s.
I thought this was pretty interesting...

Anyone know of a delay that can do a slight detune to the repeats? Kind of similar to a chorus effect, but more of a consistent pitch without the swirly sound?
I've been in love with the sound ever since I heard Sabbaths Live in '75 bootleg years ago as imparts a really thick/heavy tone on his...
81 vs 81X
I really like the sound/response of the 81 and I normally run it on 18v. I'm a little hesitant to try the 81X for fear they may have "fixed" whatever it is that made the original 81 work so well.
Anyone use both?
Wondering how the clean and C+ compare?
Also wondering how authentic the Recto voices sound?
And does the Triaxis have any switching lag when changing presets?
Disclaimer - I'm not knocking the amp... I'm being honest and I'm looking for information.
Now that that's out of the way....
What is the VH4s strength? I've kind of ignored these amps, in part due to the cost and in part due to my impression that they're generally used as part of a...
I currently use an Eventide Timefactor for delay and chorus. I like it, but I'd like to automate the changes via midi so I can sync it up with my amp's channel changes. I figured that since I'm already looking looking at midi that I should check out some other options...
Option 1: Add an...
Anyone previously used a 2 channel and moved to a Roadster?
Or vice versa?
In the past I played rhythm and 2 channels were enough (clean/heavy). Now I'm starting to do more lead work and I'm thinking of making the jump to a Roadster for the extra channels.
I'm looking for something that sounds like a Les Paul but with more modern ergonomics and neck. Flatter neck radius, no/minimal heel for improved upper fret access, belly cut.
Doesn't have to be Les Paul shaped although that would be a bonus as I like Les Pauls.
Not interested in any sort of...
