I think you're generally correct that the order makes a difference. But, also, I think that PRS just happens to sound dull and muddy. Click back and forth between the Les Paul and the PRS without the strat in the middle and you'll see the strat isn't coloring your perception as much as you might...
Hold on, folks - that RR is a BOLT-ON! Impossible to draw any conclusions now about all guitars sounding similar regardless of their shape, pickups, or construction, which was the point the OP was making! Burn the video!
OP - very cool video. Thank you.
I have my rigtalk bookmarked on “active topics” in order to always see the latest conversations. But increasingly, the active conversations are spam - dozens of posts in a row about shoes, or dozens of posts in a row about Russian dating, etc., etc., etc. Practically every morning there’s a new...
Out of curiosity, do you have any “keepers” in your collection, or are all of your guitars always available for sale or trade? What are you searching for in a guitar at this point that you haven’t already found?
Their listed prices do include VAT, which gets removed if they ship to the US. They charge ~100 pounds to ship to the US. I took mine back on the plane with me when I returned from the UK (no tax or wood problems), but I, too, would like to hear from the OP if he experienced any shipping issues...
Backwards but beautiful! ;-) Congrats!
Looks like you live in Texas? Out of curiosity, why did you end up ordering through GuitarGuitar? I live in California, but travel to London frequently on business, and I bought a Mayo Duvell from them (Camden location) last year. Love that place. They...
I haven’t tried a Painkiller, but do have two Duvells with Nazguls. I play hard rock and old-school metal, typically in standard tuning, occasionally in drop D.
I personally like that pickup in those two guitars. I do EQ my amps a little differently when I play them vs. some of my other...
My 2016 HP model came in one of these, and I assumed it was just for HP models. But perhaps not? The case does a fine job of protecting the guitar, but it's definitely heavy and prone to external dents and superficial scratches.
I'm in London on business and was lucky enough to see Andy James do a clinic a couple of weeks ago at guitarguitar in Camden. Afterward, he was selling boxes of his branded picks, and I bought some. I LOVE these things, which sucks because Dunlop isn't making more of them! I think they're...
I have one of these in a 2016 High Performance Les Paul and really enjoy it. Takes a little getting used to, and it's easy to forget how to use many of its features if you aren't using them regularly due to its wonky UI, but overall it's a really nice system that works well and makes tuning...
Gibson's 2016/17 Les Paul Standard High Performance, with its shaved neck heel, titanium upgrades, and "robot tuners", is the best Les Paul that Gibson has ever made.
To hijack the thread ever so slightly while the OP hasn't yet responded about what he's specifically looking for - how about SS refrets? Everyone I've spoken to in Oakland and SF wants $700+. Been a while since I had a refret, but holy cow, that's way more than it used to be.
