Alright this is cool as shit: Soldano is bringing back the X88R Preamp

I mean the tech is at least 30 years old at this point, nowhere near as cutting edge as it used to be. There have got to be plenty more people out there who know how to build preamps that use digitally controlled resistors integrated with analog circuitry.
Tech21 NYC; I had a PSA 1.1, and now have a PSA 2.0. analog circuit, digital control. ISP is coming out with a new Michaell Sweet analog preamp pedal...Mesa JP-2C has MIDI control...

...plenty of people making analog circuits with digital control.

Since the SLO is 4K, I'm guessing this will be around 2K.
i’m guessing in the $3k range minimum considering what the used ones have sold for:

heck, new fulltone TERC chorus units are going for $4k

They read the forums too. If we all openly speculate what the cost will be it can be used against us. The prices if what made this fun has been replaced by greed, let's just see what happens. Hopefully the metric of it being half the entire slo will drive the cost.
if they could keep it in the ballpark of the recent ie4 reissue, that would be reasonable.
