    Whammy Bar Techniques

a couple years ago i started doing the squeal where you dive bomb the G-string and hit the 9th fret harmonic on the way up. i guess you call it a dime squeal??

Is it possible to get my hands measured for a neck?

it's 100% preference. i have giant hands and still prefer thin necks with flat fretboards. i also know people with tiny hands who love fat les paul necks, and people with huge hands who like roundy vintage strat fretboards.

    JSX/XXX 2 or 6505+ ... Answer is ?

JSX/XXX2 all the way. put low gain tubes in it and it makes the crunch channel sound like a classic 50 while still having plenty of gain in the ultra channel. not to mention the fully independent EQ. running JJ 6L6's and JJ 803S(V1), 832(V2&V3) and 83S(V4) preamp tubes. running it into a 2x12...

    Peavey Vypyr 75 Review

*old thread revival* i have a vypyr 100w and love it. its versatility, tone quality and price make up for an occasional glitch here and there. i use most of the amp models from time to time, but the ones i use the most are: peavey xxx - nice tight low end without that nasty fuzz you get from...

    EMG vs SD Blackouts

as far as EMG's go, i would recommend trying an 85 in the bridge instead of an 81 before ruling them out. the 85 has a way fuller tone than the 81.

    EMG vs SD Blackouts

i dont think EMG's are a one-trick-pony. they have more versatility potential than people give them credit for. i can play some shreddy B tuning chunky heavy ass riffy stuff, then back off the volume and change amp models and play some old aerosmith or something without being dissatisfied. i...

    Pick ups......

i like my EMGs for other styles than only metal. they retain their tone when backed off instead of going dead at low volume.i also like the punch and clarity without being fuzzy at high gain. i use them for everything. my les paul has the original mini-humbuckers. they have a lot of feedback...

    Whammy Bar Techniques

do a single harmonic and hit the bar at an angle allowing your palm to slip off, causing the tremelo to bounce and shimmy. mark tremonti does it on "metalingus" a few times.

    EMG mini-humbuckers

do they sound just like the regular ones or are they thinner sounding like you would expect from a narrow field? i cant really find any reviews on them. glad you asked!!!! im building a new body for my esp m100, and im wanting to run normal 81 at the bridge and a pair of mini 60s in the neck...

    my project (esp m100)

i bought this guitar when it was 6 months old in '99 from a friend. i stripped it and painted it 5 times since then. i also installed EMG's in 2002 and wired it like a les paul. in 2007 i took it apart and planned on a customization/restoration. i'm just now getting around to it. the plan is...
