I've always wanted a Gibson Explorer but I mostly play sitting. Is this guitar comfortable to play sitting? Is the Explorer's 1st fret way out there like on an SG compared to the LP?

I love my JEL20 head (I see that you didn't like it).. but recently got the SYN20IR and love it too. I've got the Bogner Modules, the Mesa Modules and the SLO and they are all great. They sound awesome through my JEL 1x12... again it is the best cab I've heard.. do you like your two?

I'm curious what the mods do? I thought the new CRs had all the normal mods (from past DSLs) done to them from the factory.

Yeah that one looks good, that is not my guitar or my channel. I got a Pearl White one that is now Antique White with age... kind of yellowish like Randy's old LP.

I kept the original.. not sure how hard it would be to swap out for the Gotoh but there is no problem with the original and I love how I can use a coin to tighten or un-tighten it and don't have to have a special tool. I'm floating mine and used 3 springs. I love the Super 3 with certain amps...

I put a Gotoh GE1996 trem in mine. It just dropped in place on the existing studs. The guitar feels and plays great and always has. It is a well built guitar and a tone machine. The stock pickups sound great but I did put a Super 3 in mine.

I love my Model 2 that I got new when I was 18... still have it. I've notice a couple of YTers have recently gotten Model 2s and love them. I can only imagine the Model 3 is even better. You may have to replace the crappy trem, but everything else on the guitar is good.

I've heard Tracii talk about this before and it doesn't sound like he wrote appetite for destruction.. but he is a humble guy. I couldn't find that interview but did find this one where he talks about it. Sounds cool that they were all best friends basically living at Tracii's mom's house together

I've got one and it is nice. I got the Rectifier with it and I love that one too. I have recently figured out I am a Rectifier man. It's cool.. I order two cool amps (modules) and the wife says, "you got a little package in the mail today." Instead of, "Did you order another amp?" :ROFLMAO:

It seems the neck shape is different between these two as well.. I was thinking I'd get the smaller neck but if the pickups are that different, I'd better stick with the one with 490 pickups.

I've been wanting to get a SG for a while... I don't know much about them... which one should I be on the lookout for as an introduction to them for 80s hard rock and metal? Unfortunately, there are no shops that carry them around here.

I'm still loving the SYN20IR. Fairly inexpensive and it sounds great... especially through my Friedman JEL 1x12 cab
