Here we go... a quick little sample after throwing in the EL34's... Gotta say, I don't mind it at all... sounds much more clear in the room with real cabs... sounds great when recording, too! A little different; has that bark and mid bump and I'd swear I have to turn the gain down a bit...

Just threw in the 3l34's (before running out the door so I only had about 6 minutes to play around)... EXACTLY what I was hoping for... enhanced the mids, has a nice bark, not quite the same 'flub' (sounds pejorative, but it isn't), and sounds nice and open... doesn't change the fundamental...

Thanks for all the great info! The el34's are on their way so I will definitely give a full report. This Recto records VERY well... When doing metal type stuff, I tend to triple track the rhythms, but even the single track leads really sound interesting... I have a feeling I'm going to like...

Some more experimenting... enjoy! I'm starting to really dig how 'ugly and dirty' this amp is... what I perceived as 'flat and sterile' might just be the rude behavior of this beast... kinda like a dirty hooker than can body slam you...

^^^^^ That's what I'm hoping for with swapping in some EL34's... I love the Rectoverb (take a listen), but it does sound a little 'flat' and 'sterile.' Just a bit... the Rec Pre and Fifty/Fifty has just a bit more depth and sparkle... it's a richer sound... the Rectoverb with the 6l6's sounds...

Nope... sounds that way anywhere I put her... doesn't sound bad, just very big... my Mark V:25, same cab, in the corner, doesn't have the same low end... it sounds amazing too...

Double the Necrobump fun! Just picked up this guy and she is as spongy as your mom's bootie... love it... thick, syrupy, slices and dices... typical beautifully ugly chunks of goodness... BUT, I'm also very curious about taming some of that thunderous low with EL34's... Should I? :)

Playing around with some new sounds and new IR's right from Celestion and enjoying the shit out of the results... Never thought I'd like the Recto sound after thinking the Mark V:25 was the standard by which all is measured... What the hell did I know???? :) Enjoy!!!!
