Can understand why people think it's not the most PC name, which it isn't, but it's not really the worst either. Just can't keep up with what he's calling his band week to week 😆
I saw a Whitesnake tribute band earlier this year and one guitarist had a brilliant Sykes-esque tone that really cut through; turns out it was a smaller Helix while the other guitarist had an AxeFX 3 which sounded very plain and not loud enough so I guess it's how you set them up.
On a side note I think Dave's voice has started to give in unfortunately. He had a very long prime though considering he was basically shouting most of the time!
Some decent songs on the new one and Nuno is playing amazingly as ever. Thought the production was a bit muddy and Gary's voice sounds a bit worn out to me.
I like his band and always check out the albums, but yeah it's a bit "Foo Fighters but with metal riffs and solos". Still cool though and his solo on Take a Bow using his dad's original rig is bloody brilliant especially.
Not every artist has to come from the same place/upbringing to make good music. I get what you're saying but if you're EVH's kid and love making your own music then why wouldn't you use the name to your advantage? He can't help who his dad is.
Started listening to this album because of this, wow I never realised Alcatraz were that good really, the album is great! I was always a bit put off because Bonnett has never been my favourite singer tbh🤷🏻♂️
Vai's tone is excellent too and his playing style is all there pretty much. Really...
I have a TC Plethora 3 for Chorus, Vibrato and a Delay plus a Flanger pedal and a Dumble clone I'm happy with, so what could I add? Something a bit weird and wacky, or maybe boring like a compressor that I've never used in my rig ever?
Sensible-ish suggestions welcome!
Just looked up Jimi Bell, wow what a player! Love his style for sure and so clean 👌🏼
I still think Zakk was equally as good a choice though and his solos on No Rest... are the proof; some of his best playing and riffing!
Been listening to the first four Tesla albums recently and not only do they kick ass but they have some great guitar sounds. Anyone know what they were using around this time? Can't find much on it. Cheers!
