Yes it is. You can't please everyone obviously. I thought at first I should record some pinch harmonics to show you how it's done but finally I didn't bother LOL I do have a 90s rev G as well as two 2203s but I still prefer the SLO. There's no accounting for taste, IMHO, YMMV etc.
I did not care about comfort until recently, when I turned 50 and feeling onset of arthritis in my joints. Comfort is the opposite of rebellious and romantic. Being on the road is being an outsider to society. Posting videos on youtube to make a living from your home looks more like conforming...
I really wonder what's the appeal of doing youtube videos all day long. I remember as a teenager dreaming of world tours, drugs and naked groupies. this was somehow rebellious and romantic to my young naïve mind. I cannot fathom teenagers of today dreaming of becoming youtubers. The rebellious...
Couldn't have said it better. Also, the music made me slightly incomfortable, bit like watching some open heart surgery/procedure video LOL
There's a clear Bret Easton Ellis/"American Psycho" ambiance/atmosphere.
I wouldn't call a 2203 squishy. I would be more inclined to call tighter amps than the 2203 sterile and solid-statish. It's a matter of taste of course, IMHO/YMMV etc.
I guess B is the Soldano and A is the modded Marshall but it is so close it's really nitpicking here. The B has slightly more mids and A is slightly more scooped (to my ears, listening with Beyer DT770Pro headphones). Both would do the job fine.
I used no boost for a long time but sometimes a TC Electronic preamp, the old one. Sometimes the green Maxon OD808. Then I've been using a CAJ Smart Buffer with the side gain maxed for the last 10 years. That way the gain is only around 3 or 4 on the lead channel depending on the guitar and the...
The SLO works for death-metal !!! At least it worked well enough for me (and still works although I play less death-metal than before) . Pinch harmonics galore, Chuck Shuldiner style, if that's your thing (I'm also a Zakk fan to tell the truth).
Not mine but it's the exact same bass ! Full maple neck thru with ebony fretboard, fretless with SD pickup... Sounds awesome...
Mesa stack ! I also have an Eden WT800 + 2x10 but no pics right now.
