    RIP Steve Albini

Damn shame. I was not the greatest fan of his production/recording style but he did do some albums I really like. Not sure I’m ready for people who are contemporary in age to start kickin’ it…😔

Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were used in the studio a lot from music in the 80s. But it could have been any genre. Not necessarily where it’s used by a well known musician. Granted they weren’t really around as a new production amp for very long before they went into the mark III.

Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

I sold these in the 90’s and I remember when we first plugged one into a 4x12, in the store for laughs and went, holy shit.

Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

Matchless. For that much money I want to use all of the gain and volume available. Clean to edge of breakup, pretty nice, but everyone I‘ve tried turned up and really driving sounds like it’s broken. The Supechief was OK but still like a lame duck, Marshall with no teeth.

Most overrated amp ever... pick 1!

Definitely some serious rose colored glasses being used on the G’s right now. Mesa made 1000’s. If anything their prices should start dropping with everything else.

    Pete Thorn Deliverance MKII+ Demo

I do think the UL is better than the CL’s in that department but the one I had back in the 90’s just got shit on by a Marshall in the context of a band mix which was everything to me back then.

    Pete Thorn Deliverance MKII+ Demo

Good description. This especially with 50/100 CL series. Little less with the Ultra lead but close. If you play the VHT/Fryette first you think, Ok, this sounds nice and tight but you find yourself looking for that growl and bite with the EQ and it just never gets there. Then you plug into a...

    Friedman Vintage Amp Line

If you knew the Fender tone stack back then, you could dial in a Boogie easily. Also there’s plenty of killer recordings from the 80’s with Mark Boogies so it wasn’t so “secret”. You say you modded your MkIII now. You could have had a decent tech mod it back then too. Every emulation and sim...

40 years ago you could get a real ‘68 small box for less than this amp, even adjusting for dollar values. If anything, I’d kill to go back 40 years to scoop up some classic, read deal guitars, amps and FX for cheap. You be in time to get the IIC+ when it was just what you ordered new from Boogie.

    Ernie Ball strings

RE: strings in general. I just would appreciate a packaging that keeps them corrosion free for a while. I don’t go through strings fast because I’m not gigging but if I buy a box of 10, the last few packs are always no good by the time I get to them. It’s not super humid where I keep them...

They even do songs that are straight up video game music…but when they go heavy it’s the goods. All three of them are crazy good players.
