    NAD Bogner Uber rev blue

Do jcm800's come with no master volumes?? Didn't know that, I thought they all had master volumes?? I'm not very informed when it comes to Marshall's.

    Damageplan live from 2004

He used the Randall Titan and Randall Warhead X2 with Damageplan. The Century 200 rig was just for use with Pantera I believe?? he wanted a different tone for Damageplan.

Put a JB in the bridge on my guitar..

Try the SD SH-5 Custom, the original one with the ceramic mag, sounds killer and is little lower output than the JB. More focused and balanced sound.

Daves riffs on Killing is my Business

Ya, I believe he used the Rockman for the majority of his leads, if not all of them. Not sure about Mustaine's leads though??

    Mesa Mark III

I would have been happy had I gotten some VDOP or AIC - Dirt tones out of it, but it just couldn't, there's something in the mids that makes III's sound kinda dated, like the Whitesnake 1987 album, that's what it sounds like, and ironically my red stripe was made in 1987.

Looks like Randall may be out of the game.

Daves riffs on Killing is my Business

They used the Rockman for overdubs and solos, but not all of the solos. The main rhythms and some leads were done with Marshall's rented from Mike Soldano. With the Rockman it was either into a Marshall, Fender twin or straight to the board.

    Mesa Mark III

Ya I agree, III's are a bit on the harsh side. You can't dial in enough treble and upper mids without it getting harsh at band volumes, that was another issue I had with mine. The IV is a better sounding amp IMO... and of course the IIC+ is THE Mark series to get.

Daves riffs on Killing is my Business

Ya dude, the only track I skip on that album is "I ain't superstitous". Every other track is great IMO.

Master of vibrato on bends too, that's how he gets that unique sound that you can always Identify as him. Loved his solo on Lamb Of God's "purify".

His outro solo in Wake Up Dead is pretty cool, buit I agree, Chris Poland's solos are cooler, he's got a very unique style.

Ya, but "in my darkest hour" is a strong track, same for "hook In mouth"

Daves riffs on Killing is my Business

I LOVE Peace Sells. "wake up dead" is great, every riff is different, no repeats. Very cool for a track that got some airplay on MTV. "the conjuring" is another fav of mine off that album... evil as fuck.

    Mesa Mark III

That's one of the reasons why I prefer the IV over the III. The red stripe III I had was hair metal in a box, very 80's sounding, it was extremely difficult to get something more 90's or 00's sounding out of that amp so I sold it and got the IV and am pretty happy I made that choice.

    Mesa Mark III

I don't really like the SD-1 with my IV. I prefer my OD808, cuts less low end and is less noisy.

    Mesa Mark III

I had a Red Stripe simulclass Mark III for many years, it was a great amp. Definitely raw and pissed off. I kinda miss it sometimes. The red stripe as you know is closest to the IIC+ of all the stripes.

    Bogner 4x12 cab question

A cheaper alternative to a Bogner straight cab would be an Avatar Vintage 412, they are very similar in looks and construction and sound really good.

Frustrated AF with my amp search

Really, I've never played a Mesa that didn't have decent bite to it, but I do agree that it can be hard to tame the lower mids sometimes in some of them.

    What's the best amp?

I saw that too. He was very critical of Randall, calling him just an "engineer" and the frequencies chosen were not what is written on the amp, which is true. They're actually something like this (centered around) 87.61hz, 371.74hz, 723.43hz, 1575.87hz, 4822.88hz, some of them are WAY off...
