Ok, So NAD has happened and I have a stack of new gear to sort out...
Gear List: Diezel Paul, Diezel Columbus, Strymon TimeLine and Mobius
Issues: Diezel Columbus 5 Pin Midi ---> Diezel Paul 7 Pin Midi ---> Strymon 5 Pin Midi (Why the heck is the Paul 7 pin???)
What I was hoping to do was...
Purchased a Diezel Paul from Hellzington - Mike was by far one of the nicest people I have ever done any sort of transaction with. Amp had to travel the full width of the USA, and did so packed with exceptional care. Shipped within a matter of hours of me paying him, shot a video of the amp and...
Diezel Paul has arrived - I’ll give it a few hours to adjust to the house temp before powering her up (was only 20 degrees outside for the long FedEx truck ride)
A little music room reorg is in order…
Not attempting to stir the pot, but does Fryette not support these any more? I had strongly considered an Sig-X from a good friend before deciding to go with a Diezel…. But would still love another Fryette someday.
Seems odd to get the cold shoulder on a repair like this?
Cab and controller showed up today, tomorrow is the Paul (fingers crossed it shows up in one piece as you pretty much couldn’t have a farther trip in continental USA
Sweet mother of god this 2x12 cab is chunky!!!
I have nothing to do with this store other than spending lots of money there…
Happened to trip across this the other day when I was there and thought of the Rig Talk crew (I know nothing about it, so feel free to nuke this post if it’s not relevant)...
NAD awaits…
Diezel Paul, Diezel 2x12, and Diezel Columbus inbound (no talking me out of it now)
Never bought an amp I haven’t tried before, but it seems like it’s worth the risk.
Time to part ways with my little Mesa Mark V 25
I’m looking for a versatile 2 or 3 channel head that will cover great cleans to mild OD to high gain. I love everything from Eric Johnson / Clapton / SRV to Tool and TesseracT- yes a tall order for any amp I know
I don’t want a full on “metal” amp but I also don’t really want a room full of...
I bought my first real guitar amp from Matt’s with my Dad way back in 1998 - a Mesa Trem-o-Verb head. Sadly, that amp is long gone but my next amp, likely a Diezel, will come from them and hopefully never leave.
Can’t help but wonder if this will actually be real working the first 6 months of 2024.
Seriously contemplating the Mini vs a Paul or D-Moll. I actually think the Paul may be a better fit, but just unsure of its higher gain voicing
Thanks for the reply!
Correct, Little Hill is a 20 watt head with “more gain” than most Olsson offerings with that involvement in some capacity with one of the guitar players from Opeth.
I play lots of different types of music, so it’s highly unlikely this gets into actual “high gain”...
Ok, I know it's highly unlikely, but....
Anyone with any first hand experience of Olsson Amplification out of Sweden? (https://olssonamps.com/)
I'm looking for a unique handmade amp that covers a wide variety of tone. I love my Fryette Deliverance 60 combo years ago as it had a great range of...
2024 Gear list is:
Tube amp to end all tube amps (not sure what that is yet)
Cab
Strymon Mobius
Strymon BigSky
1980’s MIJ Strat in metallic blue
Also looking to upgrade the mixer in my home PA system and add a rack Tom to my Starclassic kit
Also, I should probably get some lessons ?
