Which Friedman Clean Channel takes pedals the best?

This weekend I was given a Chase Bliss Brothers by my wife and kids for my birthday and I set it up on the JJ clean channel as fuzz playing into an OD and it sounded killer. Better than any other fuzz straight into the JJ clean. Then I stacked an Analogman Sun Face (RCA) into the Brothers OD...

Which Friedman Clean Channel takes pedals the best?

Yeah, but if I'm sending it in I'm also getting the pseudo 2 channel JBE MV mod done as well. I'm also considering adding the thump and resonance controls (which Dave said he can do on the JJ), but most likely would skip that. So there would be more to it than just the clean mod. But I hear...

Which Friedman Clean Channel takes pedals the best?

Yeah I think it's either ask him to mod a BE50 dirt channel into a JJ or mod my JJ clean into a BB. I'm leaning towards keeping my JJ.

Which Friedman Clean Channel takes pedals the best?

Currently own a JJ100 and I find the clean channel to be decent with pedals, but not as good as I'd like. Wondering if one of the other big box amps is better. The JJ clean is such a high headroom clean clean that it does ok with Muffs, but not so much with Fuzz Faces and some other fuzzes...

I got my Butterslax Modded *New vids*

If you're shipping to Dave for work, can't he send you a label through his account? That would be the cheapest/easiest option. Then he could just add that cost onto the bill for the mods.

I got my Butterslax Modded *New vids*

Good luck. Dave told me to reach out again in March because he's booked solid now. I'll be sending in my JJ for some tweakage.

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

Sounds like aggression for you is a tighter attack. Makes sense. That would be high mids (ie Marshall). Dave is a master of that. A little more BE-ish. Oranges are a bit softer on the attack but more angry in how they clip (lower mids driven). A little more dirty shirley-ish. So I guess...

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

Oranges sound a little more aggressive than Marshalls (and Friedman) to my ears and that is due to the mids, which is why I asked. Oranges are more lower mid focused than upper mids like a Marshall/Friedman. That said, the Butterslax is not a typical Friedman (evolved Marshall). If I throw an...

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

Do the mids switches make it sound a little more Orange-ish?

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

Yeah I love the idea of buxom like cleans. Ch1 = Buxom Betty (I'd settle for JJ cleans) Ch2 = Butterslax Ch2 with no diodes (or JJ BE mode) CH3 = Butterslax Ch3 with switchable diodes This would only add one knob. I get real cleans and I get to keep my JJ BE channel plus add the Butterslax...

    JJ and Butterslax

I like Channel 1 = JJ clean (or Buxom Betty clean channel <--- I like that) Channel 2 = JJ channel with BE/JBE footswitching and boost volume for JBE mode Channel 3 = Butterslax channel 3 with footswitchable diodes and boost volume for diodes Global master Footswitchable Loop Yup, I'd buy...

    JJ and Butterslax

Oh heck yeah. Sign me up for that one. Simple clean channel + footswitchable JJ BE/JBE channel in a compact combo so I don't need to carry my head and cab around. Pleeeeease. Or Simple clean channel + Butterslax Ch2 with footswitchable diode(SAT) on/off I'll take either one.

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

Awesome! Keep us posted. If I could get a JJ clean or Buxom Betty on Ch1 and a SAT/HBE switch on Ch2 to switch the diodes in/out, that might push me over the edge.

    JJ and Butterslax

Not the only one. I would do that. Ch1 JJ cleans (or Buxom Betty like the BE50) Ch2 JJ 'BE' Channel with JBE switch Ch 3 Butterslax Ch3 with added diode (HBE) switch Yup... that would be sick.

BE50 HBE vs Butterslax ch 3

The only thing holding me back from selling my JJ for a Butterslax is that I really like having a clean, clean channel. Otherwise I would be all about the Butterslax. I really dig Ch2 on that amp.

    BE50 Deluxe

If the BE50 BE/HBE channels could be voiced to sound like the JJ100 BE/JBE modes I would sell my JJ and get a customized BE50 just to have the Buxom Betty clean channel and the Thump and Response controls. I think that would be my dream amp.

Which Friedman combo to approximate the JJ100 "BE" mode?

I'm considering: - Pink Taco - Dirty Shirley Mini - Runt 20 Which one of these will get me the closest to my JJ100 'BE' mode? A little about my playing style: - The 'BE' mode on the JJ100 sounds more 'angry' to me than the BE100 'BE' mode, which is why I bought it. - I rarely ever use...

DS40 and Buxom Betty in one head

I think that would be my dream amp to compliment my more modern JJ100. 2 channels, DS40 for the vintage dirt and the Buxom Betty for the cleans and edge of breakup with Reverb... One can dream can't he? Anyone else think this would be a homerun?

Recommendation for a Stoner Rock amp to compliment my JJ100

Surprising. I thought stoners spent all their money on weed. ;)
