    Plexi advice needed

Recently sold my SV20H to help fund a 2203x and I'm very happy. Thanks for all your advice with that. Next thing on my list is to get another Plexi. But I'm not going to go back to the SV20, I want something with a bit more low wlend and more balls. What are my options and what would you guys...

    Clip: JCM800 vs Diezel VH2

They both sound superb. But you're really not helping my gas for a JCM 800! I think I'll be blaming you for most of my gas recently. A few months ago I really wanted a Studio Classic due to a couple of videos you posted! So thanks! haha :-)

Diezel VH2 in the house - Clips

Nice tones, man. Got any pics of the guitar? I got an R8 last year and it's awesome! Custombuckers are superb.

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Thanks, man, I will keep my eye out but even amps from 1985 are hard to come by. It's going to take some patience on my part and I'm sure the right one will come up. Thank you, man, your clip has inspired me so much!

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

And... Therein lies the problem. I knew there'd be a snag to this somewhat simple solution. JCM 800's are plentiful for decent prices in the UK. However, finding one which has those 'magic' transformers or a vertical input alignment, from a respected year, and a decent batch, is going to prove...

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Sorry I don't get what you mean? I'm slightly concerned after reading that 800 reissues aren't as good or don't have as good transformers as originals.

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Perhaps the 'modern gain' thing was a bit misleading and probably a misunderstanding on my behalf. Many of the clips in this thread define the tone I'm looking for. Heavy, high gain, Marshall. Which translates perfectly for the tones we love from that era in the 80's...but to my ears sound great...

Thank you, man, I'll check the videos when I get home. I wonder if I can get Splawn here in the UK?

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

I'll be honest, Bxlxaxkxe's clip has sold me on buying a JCM 800 and an SD-1, because that clip has everything I'm looking for in the tone. Perfection. One question, will a JCM 800 reissue be ok or will only an 80's original be satisfactory? Sounds stupid when I say it out loud, but I need to...

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Now that sounds superb and exactly what I'm looking for, thank you, man. I'll have a better listen when I put my headphones on later. Very much appreciated!

Volume isn't an issue at all, I've got all that worked out... https://medium.com/redchairriffs/how-to ... fd0371f9f6 Yes, indeed, that's a good point with active PU's actually, thanks!

Sounds like the way to go, and is my preference, no doubt. I just hope it delivers the gain I need.

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Thanks, that list is exactly what I needed! I need to check Wizard amps out! See I've been trying to find a good clip of what an 800 sounds like with a good boost with lots of chug and palm muted etc, but have yet to find one that convinces me that it's the right way to go...ideally, THAT is...

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

Really, wow! That's cool. Thank you, I will! Thanks to the guys for earlier suggestions too, I think there's something quite appealing about a straight up Marshall and some pedals and mean pickups to get you there!

What would you buy if you want 80's/modern highgain British

I don't know about all the rubbish that went on, but must admit, I've found myself listening to a lot of Cameron CCV and Cameron Modded Marhsall tones recently, they sound huge and right up my street. What's the best and perhaps closest alternative these days, given that I guess we can no...

Cannot get rid of flubby sound on Dual Rec with Suhr Reactiv

Just bought a shed load of gear...a Dual Rec Roadster, a Suhr Reactive Load and the Two Notes CAB M. The Cab M is superb, by the way...but I cannot get rid of the flubby feel on the Rectifier. The bass is so unusable, it almost sounds like I'm hitting the notes twice when I try to palm mute...

    Axe Efx 3??

I've not read this thread in detail, but I don't remember much of a chirp with my Axe FX II XL. It was a great unit. But I sold it recently to fund a III, but I'm in Europe, so that wait is long. Long story short, I bought a Kemper to try (with the view of handing it back within my returns...
