KHE is the brand of switcher. Theres a bunch of good ones but KHE has been the best in my experience.

Earlier this year, I set up a KHE rig with 16 heads and 8 cabs....my big learning was: switching the speaker cab made a way bigger difference tonally than switching the amp head.

It's funny you mention it...the two amps I play the most are my 3P KS (exact model and color as this one) and my SLO 100. Dooooooo it :-)

I have one of these & its somewhat of the unsung hero of the Diezel lineup. Does a lot of things well, in a compact package, sounds huge, with great control & switching. A steal for $2150! GLWTS

I don't disagree about the components being the very best Mike could find although I will say have 5-6 BAD amps and believe that Dave & co at BAD do use excellent components. Another important thing to consider about the design updates: the quality of tubes in 2023 is dramatically different...

This is not accurate. Mike had the new circuit developed long before BAD came along. He spoke openly around the time of the HR25 coming out that the SLO would benefit from a lot of the new things that he had learned that made it into the HR25. IMO...I got one of the very early MK2 SLO's and...

OP here. I purchased a mk2 SLO in early 2021 and sold my "OG" SLO shortly thereafter. Tone was VERY similar, nearly indistinguishable (not using my imagination or an inaccurate comparison...using my KHE AB switch) except the mk2 had a better master volume, better loop, and better noise floor...

Bump for a sweet amp at a great price that I would jump on if I didnt already have one of these!

Hopefully someone snatched this up! This is not an amp you will see for sale often. I have #2 from the initial run, and its MEAN sounding haha.

Update: I also managed to buy a very similar HR50 to my original HR50 from 1996 (this one I bought last year is a '95), and, after I got the SLO Mk2 I sold my original SLO and my HR25 (new SLO has a master volume that made the HR25 somewhat redundant). So now I have a SLOmk2, Decatone, and HR50.

Nice dude! Yeah, mine is marked "Proto 1A" in Mark's writing. I am unclear if there is also a "Proto 1B" or anything. Would be interesting to know the timeline and what (if anything) changed. For instance...mine has a 12AX7 slot that is apparently just there...no tube in it, amp still...

I really wanted to sell mine this year, and just couldnt do it. I put 6-7 "boutique" Marshall clones on the KHE switcher, and it wasnt even close. I dont know a ton about the dates or timelines of these amps, but mine is marked "Proto 1A" on the inside.

+1, the C+ (or in my case, C++) has lots of great tones. I've surprised a lot of people with mine - the clean channel benefits from the OT with the same punch and texture that make the lead great!
