Agreed 100%, the Octane is great for brutal especially with a boost. Mids are a little lower than a regular Marshall, and the tightness range is great for dialing in pickups/tunings.
Also can’t go wrong with a Hermansson mod for this
The Lenz octane is no joke. I have a Marshall rebuilt one and it sits as a favorite with my Hermansson Marshall and Hellion. Takes a boost extremely well.
Imo whoever’s thinking about it won’t regret it.

IME the balance of 6-8 string tone is easier with multiscale tone. I love Ibanez RG2228’s but you sacrifice clarity on the 27” scale. Had an M80M, and it was amazing on the lows, but was too nasally anything above the 7th string...
