Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never found a boosted recto to do what I want. It always seemed like way too much noise and frequency interference in the high mids/treble range. What I’ve like about modded rectos is that it gives that boosted sound w/o all that noise
Mod sounds good here! Not sure...
That sounds great, so far this clip gives me the best idea of what this amp sounds like so far.
I think because some of the high end seems to be attenuated by the camera position it kinda lets you feel what it sound like in the room? Not sure if that makes perfect sense
Any descriptions of the Prometheus? Anything you could compare it to? As someone who likes amps with pre-filters over using a boost it seems like a great option.
VFE standout - more subtle, my favourite for modded Marshalls that don’t reallly need much of a push you just want to tweak the sound of the input slightly
Dirty Tree - brutal, clanky. Sounds good for 8 strings
Sounds excellent Jeremy, easily as good as the Dinos. Suprised to hear that its tighter, I thought that was the Dino’s claim to fame.
More modern which I like.
Is gain boost engaged via footswitch here?
That sounds like a pretty beastly triple rec haha.
FYI I dont mind the sizzle either, what I more so meant was if you wanted a tone without it you can get it but at the cost of gain and grind so a slight bump is a good medium.
Agreed about the donor, I could still hear the amp (Rev G) that was...
Congrats, they handle ERG’s by far the best of the amps that I’ve tried. Very tight but fat.
I found that these benefit from the slightest boost up front, like an Eq pedal but no need for anything like a tubescreamer. Then you don’t need to run the gain into where it get “sizzly” which tends to...
