Appreciate the help. I think it's still a little too high with the one shim in, so I'll see what happens when I remove it. Might just need a thinner shim.
I just got a Charvel pro mod sd and it has 2 shims under the nut making the string height too high. I removed one of the shims and it is better but what is the correct height supposed to be and how do you go about measuring it? Looked on youtube but everything was for a std nut, nothing for a floyd.
I got a Jackson custom shop like the jack butler model except silver sparkle color that Matt's Music did a special run on. Paid $650 for it off the GC used site in mint condition with case. Like a dumbass, I later sold it for $1500. Really wish I still had that one.
I agree 100%. I would never pay that much but if someone else wants to, have at it. Happens all the time like with the digitech bad monkey pedal, etc. A year and a half wait for a pickup is just ridiculous.
I noticed that too! Haven't seen that one in a while. I can definitely hear a difference with the new drummer. Nicko sounded better. Still impressed with Bruces voice at his age.
Dave reminds me of the Clint Eastwood character Josie Wales, he lives for the feud, lol. He always has a chip on his shoulder and will never be happy, thats just who he is and what makes him great. Got to give him credit the way he came back after being kicked out of Metallica. Dude is seriously...
You can get the vinyl stick on shark fin inlays off ebay for cheap. Nothing permanent if you decide to sell the guitar or want it back to original condition.
I have a Ibanez rga121 that I wanted to sand down the body and stain it and was wondering how to fix the dent in it. Since it is going to be stained and not painted, is there some sort of filler to use that won't look bad under the stain? Any ideas appreciated.
I wouldn't do a refund. Buyer looked it over and was happy with it so it's on him. You didn't try and hide something and like others have said, I think the buyer did something to it to cause that.
I've got a jb in two mahagony guitars, both sound good. You might want to try a full shred. Just got a charvel with it and am really liking it, but it is a alder body.
I just put a set on my Kramer stagemaster and honestly, didn't notice a real difference. I would just save your money and try some foam or other tricks to see if it makes a difference before buying a set.
I swapped out a Suhr Aldrich for a JB in my Kiesel DC6, ash body, maple neck and liked it better. Definitely felt like the JB had more output, more aggressive sound. Have you thought about the Duncan distortion or Dimarzio super distortion? Those might be what you are looking for.
