Been a while since I posted, but wanted to share since I'm quite happy with this setup!
So, having moved to California two years ago and running into the challenges of not having much space for, well, anything, I finally got around to getting myself a proper recording desk with rack space. I'd...
I've had my Gemini since 2021 (incidentally, the one Joe Satriani used to own, and I believe used on his Shapeshifter album if the "Gear Thanks" in the album book means anything), and when I first got it I wasn't finding myself getting along--probably because I've mostly been in the Marshall...
...So, I recently moved into a new apartment and have been getting shocked when playing guitar. Not when I'm just wailing, but rather when I complete an electrical circuit by touching the metal switch chain of my overhead light, or any exposed metal on my heat radiators (it's an old building)...
Any PWE love here?
Edit: changed the title since I guess the EH2 is going to be new compared to the original EH? Am I wrong? Seems there is a lot of fuzzy info about PWE amps these days...

Listening to it now... what I find interesting are the guest appearances of none other than Guthrie Govan and John Petrucci.
So I decided to put together a solo project just to see if I could pull it off. I picked up an 11R + ERXP on Friday along with a used Ibanez ErgoDyne bass (the wood version, not Luthite). So far I'm really digging it.
I'm not prepared to do a full review, but I'm definitely going to keep it...
So I have my new music room put together, but I've noticed a significant amount of hum that wasn't at my old apartment. I'm not really sure if it's EMI or if it's a ground loop. Obviously it's worse with gain.
Basically, everything audio is silent until I turn up the volume on my guitar...
I think I sniped the only one to get posted to the online store today. I'm stoked even though there are rumors of new hardware being released soon (check out the Fractal forum Countdown thread for all the crazy speculation).
     :D
On a side note...
With Ed's last backing track (also posted in the January jam thread, but I figured a separate thread highlighting the HD500 might interest some folks). The playing is shaky since I just had a ganglion cyst in my strumming wrist drained a couple weeks ago, and it's been a while since I had a...
I'd like a different flavor of distortion for the Guytron just to mix things up a bit. The pedal should be capable of chunky metal tones going through my clean channel. Quality is king here; I don't mind paying more if the sound is worth it. This is mainly to keep me from dropping massive...
Since the SM57 is absolute death with my GT100 and BuzzBomb, I figured I'd give the e609 a try. Apparently, Guytron uses the e906 (which is very similar to the e609 except with three EQ positions) mic element on their GT20 combos and swears by them.
Here's a pic of how I set this up for the...
Seriously, I can't emphasize enough how much more lucid I feel when I'm jamming or playing in front of a crowd. Sometimes I feel like people take the things they love for granted... So throw down your appreciation, anecdotes, crazy band stories, awesome moments of inspiration here...
Hey rack-masters, I'm looking for a rack-drawer that I can use to hold my pedals. I'm probably going to move to a GCX/Ground Control Pro setup, but I have no idea what sort of rack drawer would be best.
I know I don't want velcro, because it always seems like the velcro pads on my pedals are...
Other than just playing loudly, of course, since I'm sure some wise-ass will post that :gethim:
I'm currently running a 40hz sine-wave through my 2x12 with Guytron Bigtone 55 speakers. I've already put some hours in playing, but nothing at high, or even moderate volume. The sine-wave is...
I got a chance to muck about with one last weekend for a decent amount of time, and here are my thoughts... I tried it out with a Les Paul Standard.
The amp will do a lot of different tones, there is no doubt about that. I thought the EL34->6L6 knob would be cooler than it actually was, which...
My problem is that the recordings of this cab always come out too compressed, no matter how I set the gain level. It currently has a pair of Guytron Bigtone 55's, which are British voiced (sort of the genius bastard child between a V30, G12H30 and Greenback). Amp is the Guytron GT100, which...
Got my pair of Guytron Bigtone 55 speakers in yesterday to replace the Swamp Thangs in my BuzzBomb. Graydon Stuckey described them to me as Vintage 30s without the annoying upper midrange, and a very sparkly top end, so I thought I'd give 'em a whirl.
So far I like them a lot, even though...
So I was looking for info on my Guytron (looking for the bias resistor) when I noticed that, low and behold, the bloody thing has a full schematic at the US Patent Office website! How about that? I knew that a lot of amp designs were patented, but I didn't realize that included a full...
