Yeah, but it's stereo, right? Like the G-major OG?
I use it in a 2U rack with an Engl 530 preamp. I can change between the channels and the gain structures.
Combined with a Eurekaprom FCB1010, it's a versatile and good sounding rig.
The Axe-fx is probably better sounding, but it costs twice to...
I'd like to try the Merrow set. It seems to be a "modern" PAF sound. I have a guitar with 81/85 and a ground wire, so it should be plug n play if I only want voice 1.
Like I said, I omit obvious updates that make the unit work.
If you got an original Axe-fx ten years ago, put it in a rack, and never hooked it up to anything but your power amp, you'd be like most amp users. And you would probably play and be happy. I would probably use it like that. I've...
How is this different from modding a tube amp? Or more accurate, the "idea" of modding tube amps.
Of course, unless you know how to do it yourself, the amp must be transported to the modder. The mod can only be applied to one amp at the time, even if it's a "standard" mod. And it's usually a...
Maybe it all boils down to why each inidividual plays an instrument?
If it's for personal enjoyment, and nitpicking about the details different setting on the EQ translates to what you hear. People's ears are also different. Many old rockers have no high end left.
If it's as a creative outlet...
Jealousy is the key word here, I think. The band is tighter than many original bands. And they're obviously getting gigs. And guys at that level really doesn't have to use that much energy to "sound like" anyone. You could probably sling an LP around his neck, and have him playing G&R or...
That works up until a certain level of gain, and from there, you just add more overdrive and compression, not any volume. But up to that point, it works fine :) I use the boost in front solely to get more metallic attack (ts-9). I have a Boss EQ in the loop for volume boost.
I believe this might be the reason some love it, and some don't quite so.
It's a great tool for a working musician who has to travel light, and sound consistent and good every night (in non-pestilence times)
Pro guitarists usually play run-of-the-mill gear, because it works, and they make it...
"SPEAKERS One 8-ohm and two 4-ohm jacks are provided. The Boogie is not very sensitive to speaker mismatches and will not be damaged by them except that very low ohmage loads will cause the power tubes to wear out faster. A single twelve-inch 8-ohm, speaker should generally be connected to the...
I stacked a Music Man combo and a Mesa Thiele cab with an EVM, it was my rig for a long while.
It sounded massive. The open sound from the combo, and the big low end from the Thiele was a great match. It can be a decent replacement for a half stack, and you can carry everything in one round...
