Remove Floyd Rose tremolo block shim?

The block shim doesn't affect the saddle height at all, and there is no shim directly under the saddles. It looks like the floyd height is exclusively dependent on the mounting studs. I would not take out the shim due to fine tuners, but I've never tried it.

Gimme your go to active pickups !

I think I want to take out all the tone controls in my guitars too, and put in the emg active eqs instead. Might not need them, but I never use/like the tone knobs on any guitars. I've got the mid boost and treble boost. I bet I will like a tiny mid boost, and maybe a tine treble boost on my...

Gimme your go to active pickups !

Haha, I'm a dumbshit. I forgot to hit the reply to your post, it was meant to be one. Yeah, that was concerning the ahb-2 blackouts metal. I haven't tried the regular blackouts, but I'm going to try out the mustaines, which are supposed to be active versions of the jb/jazz set, I'm really...

Gimme your go to active pickups !

I felt they were similar to the 81's in the lack of low end, but they were also fuzzy and indistinct in an overgained kinda way, I guess. The pushed mids didn't bother me. I'm probably an alnico kind of guy. That was with the jumper removed for the lower gain setting.

Gimme your go to active pickups !

I'm done with passives, for now. Not a fan: 81, blackouts metal. Fan: 57, the new standard for me. Gonna try: Mustaines, and Tim Hensons.

    VHT/Fryette Deliverance amp demo

totally. is the deliverance a really dark amp or something? I had a GP3 and CL100 before and they weren't dark at all. Definitely gonna get Fryette tone someday again. That guy is cool and funny. I love that shit about the pcb kiss my ass stuff, effin riot!

    Diezel VHX Pre Loop

No, the pre loop is for outboard pedals, the on board fx are after the preamp. You can put an eq pedal in the loop, though, or an overdrive, or whatever. My dream amp.

Comfortable Guitar Strap For Epiphone AL LP Custom

I found mine at guitar center eleventy billion years ago, no brand name, works great. For me, the rule of thumb is: 1. leather on both sides 2. NO suede, it stick to shirts terribly 3. ample padding mine looks like this one...

Incoming NGD! Epiphone Alex Lifeson Les Paul Ruby Red

Congrats!!! Epic guitar and epic case! I was looking at that one myself, but settled on a used Epi with floyd. Trew some dimarzios in there and a lo pro floyd in. That Lifeson is roughly the start of Epiphone finally putting the bridge pick up where it belongs. I hate it when manufactures put...

ENGL Savage 120 MkII - MIDI confusion

that's weird. Only ch4 huh? I would like to hear an Invader ii someday. I hear it's more like a powerball/fireball in that it's tighter than the OG invader. My OG gets plenty tight with a mild boost, but I'd still like to hear one. Do you use the Engl gate or the HX gate or neither or both?

EL34 Power tube retainers other than those cheapos everyone sells

Holy shit, those steampunk ones look like the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. $$$ Those Ampeg ones look really cool, way less of a pain in the ass then the bear trap ones, though I like the way the trap ones actually work well, and they're cheap. I wouldn't mind retrofitting some of the...

ENGL Savage 120 MkII - MIDI confusion

I'm not getting feedback at all. Loud TV volumes max, though, and I use the built-in noise gate. Even with the occasional volume cranked, no feedback at all. Gain not cranked, super saturated early on dial. Those freaking crazy honky mids I turn down to 9 oclock, that might help. It reminds me...
