I sold my Uber Rev G because I found it some kind of muffled as like if it had a blanket in front of the speaker and it seemed more compressed compared to other heads
Probably all things considered, I think the Helios Eclipse is a great amplifier. It sounds good straight away, immediate. If it had a bit more low end it would be the perfect amp but even so it's very close
First test done with Uber Ultra and it literally smokes.
The sound may actually seem "produced" but it's really a question of avoiding certain settings to make it sound more old-style.
I'm actually wondering if the choice of the EL34 was the most appropriate one for me, given the redundancy of...
I hope that the new Uber is a completely renewed amplifier compared to the old one. I sold my Uber Rev G because I found it muffled as if it had a blanket in front of the speaker and it seemed more compressed compared to other heads
Absolutely the 100B of a friend.
Apart for that, actually I prefer my Helios Eclipse
Then my Ecstasy Cameron modded.
I sold the Uberschall (that wasn't my favorite) for the UberUltra that I'm waiting in a few days, hoping for a totally new platform.
I already have a Helios Eclipse and an Ecstasy but I bought the Uber Ultra which I'm waiting in a few days...
what didn't you like about the Uber Ultra?
I had the Bogner blue and have the red one.
Of the two I sold the blue because the red one in the clean channel of the Soldano sounds practically identical to the distorted channel. I bought the BE OD on a G.A.S. attack, I must say that it is a very nice pedal, especially in solos, as the...
The concept that double the cost does not equal double the quality escapes most people. When you start from a high level, a small improvement in quality equates to an often significant increase in price due to assembling with better parts of much higher value.
Having said that, I own an SLO...
I had the first version with EL34s but this time it looks like a completely different beast and completely boosted with nitrous oxide !
Anyway I'm in doubt whether to choose the EL34 version or the 6L6. Too bad it hasn't arrived here in Europe yet, otherwise it would already be sitting in the...
I have three 5150 but the first 50w Peavey Combo was the best. The Block/Signature comes second on par with the Stealth 100 that is a beast. I also have the EL34S that is a different iteration but it's too nasal for my ear.
To me the difference from real amps and modellers lies in the feel with the instrument: most guitarists talk a lot about dynamics but modellers flatten my playing a lot, so much so that I have a hard time switching from modeller to real amplifier that becomes more difficult for me. Therefore I...
I have one and it's a beast, more gain than you'll ever use: pair it with delay and you have sustain for days: it has one of the best lead sounds out of my amps.
It's a two channel preamp with a boosted lead channel but there's a pot on the back that you can use to also have a crunch sound...
I've had one for years but sold it because I never used it.
From a construction point of view it is an exceptional guitar and comes from the factory with a perfect setting. The neck is quartersawn but although my hands are not large I felt comfortable with it because the fretboard is quite...
I have the SLO, the Recto, 5150 and two 5153 (6L6 and EL34) and i must say that the blue channel of the 5153 6L6 is the most similar to lead channel of the SLO.
That said, all the 3 amps above sound different. Small changes in the layout could do huge difference in sound. In fact I tried the...
Although I have an Uberschall and I can say that I like it a lot, I hope the new version improves it in those little aspects that don't make me prefer it over other amps: volume jump between channels, overall sponginess and other.
