Thanks everyone! I think I'm probably leaning towards the Metro. The only downside as gibsonash pointed out is that it doesn't roll off the volume well.
Though, I have noticed that with the two modules that I have as well. They seem to be on or off, no real great in between sounds.
I thought that this was a good summary of technique in the studio (recording technique) being more important (as important) as gear. I think you can randomly select any Ola does it chug video and surmise that the amps with a close mic and the same recording technique, all start to sound the...
I have an Aldrich mod 800. This is the sound of it straight into it. Not saying John didn't boost, but I found that it really doesn't need a boost, nor take them particularly well. It does this sound and this sound only. There are some options, switches, that change some things around, but...
I've seen him five times. I love that he goes for it head first every time. When it works, it's one of the best live guitar players you will see. When it doesn't work, he's fighting it and it's sloppy and haphazard.
Still, he's the reason I started to play.
It's completely possible that he intentionally tuned to that. I also wonder if it's a byproduct of mastering or mixing, slightly slowed down or sped up (depending on the tuning).
The MSG records with McCauley are all a 1/4 step down, but live he's either standard or 1/2 step down. Did they...
What are you using them for? I have a ton of amps, but just bought the syn with the uber and slo. I bought it because I'm a basement player now with kids, and being able to turn it down, or record is a huge plus. But, when I compare it to my real amps, it is thinner. I can get it close, but...
Everything that I've read was that it was EVH, Lynch, and Rhodes. Terry Kilgore comes up as the guy that was on par with Eddie, but he was never in a band that made it.
It's a bit like a white whale. When I fire it up, it's like YEAH!! It sounds like the Live Whitesnake DVD from early 2000s (even if that was Custom Audio and other amps). But, I know that if I do sell it, I won't find another one. I've debated on selling it and buying a Friedman or something.
I bought my JCM 800 Aldrich off of someone here in 04-05 era for $2200. I still have it, though I don't play it often. It sounds amazing for what it does, but it does that one thing, and I need a clean and something that likes pedals.
Same here. I saw them in 2008 at a club that was filled with so much cigarette smoke, you could hardly see the band. He nailed everything. They had meet and greet after and he couldn't speak, his voice was gone. He went from raging, super high screams to nothing after. You would never had...
Don has said in interviews that George would record and go home, then Don would go in with Wagner and they would cut and splice solos together. But, that is Don also being Don.
In George's instructional video he has outtakes of him soloing over tracks from the first Lynch Mob. Of course, they...
Try going from the FSB into the TC first and see if it will switch presets. If that works, then from the TC out (or thru) going into the Eleven rack.
If the FSB won't switch the TC when going directly into the IN (with nothing else hooked up), then we know that you have to restore the TC to...
Absolutely agree with all that you've said. For me, if they're looking for a name, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Satchel (Russ) would all be better equipped as Eddie was their number 1.
This latest outing is just Chickfoot trying to make some money. Nobody cares about Chickenfoot, they are below mid. And as awesome as Joe is, he is absolutely the wrong guy to play a VH tribute.
