But they really were not hair metal (imo) until Hysteria. On Hysteria they really beat all the LA boys at their own game (by the sales numbers). I still really like the first three, especially Pyromania, so I've always hated to group them with Hysteria.

Slippery When Wet has probably sold the most of any of the glammy bands. Appetite For Destruction and Back In Black have sold more but I wouldn't put them in the glam dept. Best imo is none at all!

Go with round core like ghs boomers then. I use the boomers on a couple guitars that are naturally really bright and wide/scooped. The boomers with their round cores seem to have a bit more to the mids and are a bit less open-sounding in the top and bottom vs most hex-cores.

I think it's a you thing. Any of the main string brands are fine for most commons.

I love the defeat switch on the front of the amp. It routes your input signal straight to the loop's return for bypassing the amp's preamp and using your own stuff.

The two are not always related. Resistance does not equal output.

I use the Dunlop mineral oil fretboard conditioner. Rosewood and ebony get a treatment at least once per year, and maybe twice if it's a guitar that has been out a lot in the winter with the furnace running the dry air. Usually I'm at a good humidity here but when we have a super cold streak it...
