Brought the amp home and based on serial number it is made in 2010 so at least then these amps were still available. This comes with the assumption that VH4S follows the same serial number logic as VH4 and the first two digits are the manufacturing year. And I really love the amp! So much fun...

2005 VH4 + Mako MAK2. For distortion Mako being dialed for more "scooped" (not too much!) and VH4 for the middle bite. Beautiful and huge "fill the room" clean sounds. I also have a 2007 Herbert, but the above has been my main setup so far. Maybe I could give Herbert another try someday.

It sure does. Programming Diezels to read MIDI PC-messages is possibly one of the easiest tasks. Only thing you propably need a manual for is if you want to set the amp to a specific MIDI-channel.

What year your VH4 is? If it is older it can have a "hum trimmer", a small potentiometer inside that you may need to adjust (similar to bias pot). These tend to break and in newer models they have been replaced by resistors. My VH4 is from 2005 and the hum trimmer blew due to power tube failure...
