The twang king in my kotzen very bassy with a real harsh top end. I dial in my amp for the bridge pickup (Chopper T) as it’s what I use 90% of the time. Anyone else find this? Suggestions?
What’s your favourite boost pedal going in to a marshally type amp for lead playing to get it nice and fluid. You know the tone that makes you feel like you can play anything (even though you suck ?)
I’m always amazed how different my rig sounds in different rooms. I never like my tone when we practice. But every time I get on stage I absolutely LOVE it. It’s thick and chewy. Sounds perfect for hard rock stuff IMO. In jam it’s bright and unpleasant and gives me ear fatigue. I use a LP into a...
I’ve always loved the tone Metallica got on Load and Reload. The albums themselves took years to grow on me. What amp would replicate that tone the best? I know there was likely a bunch of different amps used in the studio, as well as “studio magic” , so not looking the absolutely nail it. But...
I played at a festival yesterday and the backline had an Orange OR15 (pretty sure that’s what it was or CR15 {don’t know if that’s a thing lol}). The previous band used it and it sounded great so I decided to use it. This is the first time I’ve played through an Orange. It sounded like a...
For me the most…
Overrated is Early EVH- his early tone literally hurt my ears. The high end drove me nuts. Not so bad now that I’m older and lost some of that hearing lol
Underrated is probably Richie Sambora- I always dug his tone no matter what he was using
If I could have any guitar player’s ability it would be Nuno. I love everything he plays. Lead. Rhythm. Vocals. Writing.
Second choice would be Richie Kotzen. Better singer. I just prefer Nunos guitar playing. But as a whole package I think Kotzen is better.
Neither of them are my favourite...
I picked up a vintage Thomas Organ wah yesterday for cheap. It sounded fantastic for about 5 min. Then it stopped “wah”ing. Just sounds like a low pass filter. Won’t sweep. Just stays basically like toe up position. I put my DMM on the pot and it tests ok. Any suggestions?
I love the guitar tone on Motley Crüe’s self titled album with Carabi. It’s massive. What amp captures this tone the best. I realize it’s probably multiple amps and studio processing and multi tracked. But as a stand alone amp and 4x12 what head would come closest in your opinion.
I never really listened to them much before (other than the song Wicked Sensation). But man they are pretty killer. I prefer it to Dokken. Anyone know what Lynch was using then?
I’m looking for a boost pedal for leads to add a bit more saturation and tame a bit of ice pick higher up on the neck. I use a Les Paul with APH2 into a Mesa Stiletto Ace with Bogner 412 loaded with Vintage Blackbacks. Playing mainly hard rock. I love my tone but for leads higher up on the neck...
Was just browsing cabinets and saw that Marshall 4x12s retail for $300 more than Bogner 4x12. What madness is this?

I’ve got Grover locking tuners with the thumb screw and low E one has issues. It works fine with no string in it. But once I put the string in the threads won’t catch. Sometimes it crosses threads. Eventually I’ll get it to work but it takes 5-10 min to get the threads to catch. Any suggestions?
