Hello all! I’m planning to buy a Tornado Captor X however I’m playing through a Randall Titan which is 300 watts and 4ohm rated. I’m wondering if I buy the 8ohm captor X will my amp still sound good? And will the captor handle the 300 watts 4ohm? (The amp is solid state)

Good morning BoxTop2021,

Thanks for getting in touch - Ross from Two notes here!

For optimal results, we always suggest matching the impedance of your Amplifier and loadbox, simply to protect the amplifier. However a 1-step mismatch can be actioned using an 8Ω Captor X. For more details please see the article below.

In terms of using an amp rated higher than the max power rating of the Captor, this can be actioned but you will need to heed the advice given in the article below.

Please let me know if this helps and if there is anything further I can clarify for you today, please let me know!
