Visiting my parents right now and I noticed my dad's BE-50 Deluxe is acting up. The HBE channel has very little gain and is really thin and buzzy sounding compared to the BE channel, which seems to be working fine along with the clean channel. I've played on his amp a bunch during prior visits and knew this wasn't how it was supposed to sound.
I figured it was just a bad preamp tube so I did some reading here and we ordered some EH 7025s - those came today and I just installed them (all 4). Same problem unfortunately, no difference at all. I've tried all the different switch combinations, etc., nothing seems to make it any better.
Any ideas or are we looking at having to take it in?
