Favorite books for speed/technique/soloing strategies/rhythm

What would you recommend for books to work on speed and technique? It would be great if the book also covered soloing as well as getting good with rhythmic kind of stuff (ala Nuno Bettencourt). I know Troy Stetina's book is a foundation, but what else do you think is a worthwhile investment/reference tool?

Thanks.

I appreciate the response but would like to stick to instruction material for now. My schedule is tight and weird with hours so lessons aren't too much of an option right now. Also, the Media Composer I'm seeing is a video editing program.

Petrucci Rock Disipline
Gambale's Chopbuilder
Gilbert's Intense Rock I and II
Jeff Loomis Extreme Lead Guitar

.... so many more but these are good ones. Cheers and good luck

I have all of the above mentioned ones..all are excellent...but the ones that did it for me and put it over the top are both of Vinnie Moores 'dvds..I had a lesson from him once and he's such a great person, patient with the student, and 0=zero ego...hes got my vote!

As noted above Petrucci Rock Discipline and Paul Gilbert Intense Rock I and II, all on Youtube BTW.
Frank Gambale's Speed Picking is a book worth picking up too.
