It's different sounding then any Fryette/VHT stuff thats for sure... But as far as heaviness goes.... it's right up there with it and has alittle more punch in the bass. Some like it some dont

gain is much more saturated in the FB, but the UL has a growl to it that is just amazing, one is 6l6 and the other is KT88, so there is that diff as well....the engl seemed better built to me though, would have either though and be very happy
