Power tubes too close to speaker magnet.

Greeting Folks,
I put a EM12 in my Boogie combo and the magnet is huge and leaves about a 1/4" between the magnet and the power tubes. Is that an issue? Thanks again!

I don't think so physically but I believe the issue for people is that the constant vibration of the speaker can cause your power tubes to loosen? I'm not an expert here. I would consider also some tube damper rings like this:

Fixed: The EM12 is thick, and the Mesa combo is 1/2 inch plywood. I had enough room to front mount the speaker, gives me about an inch clearance. I'm good with that. Thank everyone again!

need to put the magnets back. sucks the bad tone out of the tubes and propels it with the moving air before it can enter your circuit.

That's after I switched it from rear mount to front mount. Got about and inch now. It's good.

Oh ok. I was thinking I have a couple amps with that spacing about that close. Didn’t catch that was after the change.
