I want to replace a 10" speaker in a small combo amp . Speaker shows 8 ohms and power capacity 50 watts.

It's a 20 watt combo amp , why would it say power capacity 50 watts ?

All the replacement speakers I'm looking at say 8 ohm's 20 or 25 watts . Speaker I'm swapping out is a Boogie Black Shadow 10" speaker from a 90's Boogie Subway Rocket. Looking for a more vintage sound , looking at the Warehouse Green Beret 10" speaker.

What am I missing ?

Thank you

Well, it's like a 100W head will be paired with a 4x12 speaker cab rated at 280 watts.

A "100 watt" tube amp will put out a lot more than 100 watts. That is typically the "clean" power rating. If an amp has 100 watt power rating, that usually means that it will go to 100 watts before the signal clips.

20 watt amp clean = 40 (+/-) watts max distorted/clipped.
