Just serviced with all new glass, Genelex Gold Lion KT88's, and new JJ's in the preamp. Tubes are brand new, tech went through amp completely. I'm just more of a modern high gain/modded marshall player so I will move this one down the line. For fans of Zeppelin/Song Remains the Same, this is THE amp to own, because it's an actual replica of Page's '69 Marshall SLP modded for KT88's (MSG stands for Madison Square Garden, after the “Song Remains..” shows). Tons of extra options including NOS mustard caps, MV, and FX loop. All told, with the mods and upgraded glass this would be over $4200 new. Headshell has some wear for that "lightly toured with" look. Back cover is included, just not pictured.
Extras are:
PPIMV (post phase inverter master volume) is available on MSG models only. Get drive and gain at any volume level! $150
Chassis aging (relic style) $50.00
New '68-'69 transitional style steel Plexi chassis: $200.00
Based on a vintage steel chassis, laydown power tranny with filtering on top like JP's original 10xxx Plexi amps. An original Plexi chassis was used to duplicate each mounting hole and punch outs. Chassis can accommodate vintage OEM parts: choke, cliff jacks, Dagnall transformers, impedance selector, Bulgin AC and fuse holders. Chassis has mounting holes for a vintage lead or tremolo style circuit board
Vintage style Phenolic component boards:$50.00
Philips Mullard 'Mustard' capacitors: $200.00 (JPP models) $275.00 (MSG models)
Vintage Tube sockets: $150.00 (100w models) $100.00 (50w models)
Vintage Bulgin AC Plug: $50.00 (male chassis plug only)
Vintage RS & Lemco mixer and treble caps:$50.00 (MSG models)
Vintage Bulgin fuse holders: $45.00 (all models)
PEC mil-spec pots: $100.00 (all model amps)
F&T capacitor upgrade: $25.00 (all models)
Metro FX Loop installed. By Bryan Sours of SOURSOUND fame.
This demo by the maker of the amp explains the construction methods and ideas behind getting the Song Remains the Same tone, as well as some demonstrations.
Asking $2950 + shipping OBO. The only trades I'll really consider right now is a quality and/or vintage Strat or Tele Fender or Suhr.
