Speakerless load for 4100 head?

With the 4100 head's power distribution set at 10 watts, can a 10 watt (or larger) 8 ohm, non-inductive, resistive load safely be used instead of a cab?
If so ..... what would be a good one to maintain tone?

Also, can the record jack be used to drive a set of headphones directly, or do you need to run the signal through a mixer to use headphones?

As you guys probably have guessed, I'm looking for a way to both silent record, and silent practice with the Tourmaster.
Not having received mine yet (it's due next Friday) I may very well be going about this wrong, so suggestions are appreciated ....... :yes:
 
Take 100w and you will sleep on your two ears.

Do you have a compensated output with a speaker emulation?
If not direct out -> soundcard -> Daw (Nadir or Lepou or Boogex or...) + IR -> headphone and you will have the perfect setup for a silent play.
