quick loop pack is essentially pre-programmed beats. They can be used as the only instrumental for a song, or to replace or augment the live drumming of a rhythm guitar, which is often done in hip hop and electronic music. Improvising live drums on the spot takes a lot more skill and practice than just following simple loop patterns. Producers who are already established have little need to do this, but an unskilled drummer might find it much easier - he would be able to concentrate on his music production rather than worrying about recording from scratch.
