Traded my Rico since it had a few minor problems I didn't want to deal with, as I felt it would never really be a "great" guitar. I traded it for a 1987 ESP Mirage. The snakeskin is not paint, but actually a real fabric underneath a thick plastic "case." There are supposedly only 5 in the world! This thing is mint with only minor NJFC, which is expected for a guitar of this age! The pickups are stock. Feels great, but need to set it up.

The second guitar is a 1991 Ibanez RG565. They only made these in 91' & 92', in black, lazer red, and lazer blue I think. The pickips are a Little 59 in the neck, and an Invader in the bridge. This thing feels and plays AMAZINGLY!! This thing is mint as well, only has the smallest NJFCs I've ever seen, looks like it's just a tiny bit in the clearcoat, they're so hard to see.

The only thing that sucks is I can't hear how these sound plugged in since I have no preamp!! :(

SWEET!!!!! especially that ESP :inlove:

What was wrong with the Rico? I've heard they are kinda hit and miss, but haven't got to try one myself yet.

Well... 1) One of the bolt holes for the neck was stripped (that was user error obviously, BUT NOT ME!). 2) There was a huge shim under the lock-nut for the Floyd, took way too much wood off (never would be correct clearance) 3) The section under the Floyd where the saddles screws are wasn't taken down enough, so diving the floyd just a bit would make the saddle screws dig into that spot.

Overall they are easy fixes, probably cheap too, but I don't know about the lock-nut part. It made it so there would never be correct clearance for intonation and stuff. Overall I felt it just would never be an "amazing" guitar. The day I found all this out though I turned around the next day and did a straight up trade for the ESP!! Overall, I think I came out in a good spot on this one!

Congrats, man! That RG is hot!!! They were made in green color too. You aren't losing anything now that you don't have a preamp to test the guitar with because it sounds like shit. Now sell it to me, dammit!!!!! :gethim: :hys:

  I'm a regular down at the music go round near me, and I was talking to the owner and mentioned that I recently picked up the RG565 and was just waiting for it to get to me. The first thing he says is "Cool man, you should sell it to me." All I could do was chuckle and say "Well, it's good to know I have a buyer if I really need to, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you!" I guess now I have 2 buyers, but I don't see this thing leaving anytime soon... if ever!! ;)

I would be willing to trade straight up if you found a mint one of any of the other colors though... especially green!
