Jackson Soloist Question.

So I grabbed an SL1 and here are pics of the actual one I have. Is this body Alder or Mahoganey? I think it's Alder but could be wrong. The pics of the back show the body woods, that pretty maple top hides it well.

Yeah, that could be a regular SL2H just as easily as a SL2H-MAH. And as far as I can remember they never made a SL1-MAH.
 
There were models that were alder bodied with flame maple top (sometimes referred as SL-1F and SL-2HF). There were only SL2H-MAH.
 
Yup, That one looks just like a guitar that hung on the wall at Musicians Workshop in Manalapan NJ for a few years. Right next to it was a string through body MAH model.

I haven't been to that store in a few years. How much were they asking? It's a good time to buy pointy headstocks since they're just not cool for hipsters, alt rock or indie homos, the blues crowd, or any Fender Gibson fan.

I havent been there in the few years myself. I offered them $1500 OTD for the MAH model and they wouldnt take it. They were stuck at $1700 so I walked... I didnt want it that much...

I think all of those flame maple caps were mahogany. I would own 10 of these soloists if the volume know was located in a different position.

If I could design it myself I'd put the volume where the tone is, and do away with the tone altogether. My issue, one I'm trying to deal with, is my pinky on my right hand is always hitting the whammy bar so I often never use a bar. I swore I wouldn't buy another floyd but I couldn't pass this up, especially at the price.
