I just picked up this '87 ontario soloist, for $300. I believe this graphic is called "black grid?" This is actually a custom shop guitar, right? Since during that time all USA's were built to order? It is a J code guitar. It's all original, except that it's missing the locking nut. I think I am going to get an OFR for it, this JT6 looks a little cheesy. I just need to come up the goofy locking nut for it though. Going to open it up and see what humbucker is in it in a minute. If someone has one of these old style locking nuts floating around in your parts bin, I'm your man. :D

Wow! Great score! And...nothing wrong with the much-maligned JT6. I really like 'em!

He had no clue what he had. Just some old Jackson.
lemme guess? craigslist? :D
I bought a mint 5150 head for $200 last week from CL but you got a even better deal IMHO

Damn dude nice. You think an old Charvel nut would fit?

Yeah, that's a great deal. A kahler string-lock will fit if you can't find a JT6 one.

I'd rock that graphic job as well. Super sweet score, congrats !

This was by far the DIRTIEST guitar I've ever had to clean up. Made since, the dude looked like one of those burnt out fellas with long hair, no shirt on, and screaming WHEEEEEEW! @ a Motley Crue concert. Then watches Nascar on Sunday. :scared:

The stock pup was a J50B. It sucks. Pulled it, now a JB sits in there. Sounds good!

I don't care how dirty it was, that is a GREAT score for $300...
