I've had a trailer trash pedalboard for years, actually I've never purchased a real pedalboard. So I decided a nice little project was in order. Drove down to San Jose to Vision Guitars, very cool place. Small boutique shop with tons of pedals, guitar parts and friendly folks.

Anyway, I picked up a Temple Audio Duo 24 and 4 way jack for the side. They were out of Power adapters, so I'll have to order one. The Temple Audio boards are pretty cool. There are ports on each side of the pedalboard for putting power adaptors, XLR, TRS, USB, etc... The boards also have this plate that glues onto the back of your pedal and then it fastens neatly into the pedalboard holes and screws in. I didn't want to glue the plates on the back of my pedals, so I used zip ties instead of plates. Pretty simple and holds really well and I don't mess up the back of my pedals. Quick snip and I can change, rearrange or add pedals. It went together pretty quick and easy.

I'm not the best at these type of things to make it look completely professional, but I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. The pedals don't move, they're all pre-wired and all I have to do is plug my guitar and amp (including effects loop) into the 4 ports on the side. I may end up changing the patch cables out because the ones I have were pretty bulky.

Oh, the pedals are: Whirlwind Perfect 10 EQ -> Bogner Wessex -> Lovepedal Eternity -> Airis Savage -> Amp effects loop -> Mesa EQ -> Strymon Dig -> Wampler Spring Reverb -> Amp effects return. Voodoo Pedal Power2 underneath.
Pretty simple really, EQ and Overdrive before, EQ, Delay and Reverb after. I have an ISP Decimator pedal, but this really doesn't make much noise at all, so I never use it.

Cool man. Congrats. I've been curious about these boards for a while now. The accessories they offer are a great idea.

Very nice! Looks very futuristic, congrats! Cool selection of pedals. That Strymon Dig, man there's holy grail sounds in that one...those golden ratio modulated super deep wash sounds are beautiful....somewhere in-between a reverb and a delay, and absolutely gorgeous. I want one lol! Congrats

Seriously, reminding me how much I want a DIG lol, another very 80's goodness piece of gear:

HOLY SHIT LOL, gorgeous:

That's awesome congrats. I plan to get one in the next couple of months. Not sure if I'm going with red or grey. Also thanks for posting the pic. Wondering if I can fit everything on the duo 24.

The Strymon was perfect for me. I just got it a little over a week ago. I just wanted a simple pristine digital delay that I could set and forget and just use it all the time. This was it. It made me sell my Eventide H9's that I never used 90% of the features they had.

Looking good.

How do you use the pre-EQ?

I use it to push the mids and cut the lows and highs going into the pedals and then hitting the front of the amp. Notice the kind of evil smile on the EQ curve. It also helps when using different guitars with different pickups. I can compensate or adjust for anything.
The Whirlwind EQ is pretty cool too. It is Constant Q instead of a normal shelving type EQ, explained here: http://whirlwindusa.com/media/uploads/whirwind_perfect_10_-_constantq.pdf, but basically it seems more surgical in raising one EQ band does not effect the band next to it as much. Meaning I can bump at 500 without bringing in much of the 1000 nasally sound.

For the same price ($109) was looking at the 21 Trio which was 21 inches x 16 inches so it allowed for 3 rows of pedals. But I thought it was too large for me right now. I think I could fit 2 more pedals easily on this 24 inch. If I needed to add more, I could probably do it by bringing the pedals closer in together, but I had plenty of space so I actually tried to spread them out a little. But depends on cables too. I used the pedalplanner to give an idea of how many pedals could fit on different sized boards: http://pedalboardplanner.com/

Did you get the carry bag as well?

Am real close to getting one of these and was curious about how the case is. Thick padded and protective? Everything fit snug?

almost grabbed one of these as my friend carries them at his shop and was blowing them out but didn't get there in time. i love how big and light they are-super light!

Ive been planning temple boards but have been leery of the "flexing" complaints I hear. Does the board flex when stepping on pedals normally?

Also is it correct that the board is a coated metal? Are the side fully plastic?

thanks!

My exact question too...how much flex?

However, the pedalboards that are all tolexed plywood look really heavy. Doesn't anybody make a Titanium reinforced carbon-fiber pedalboard for like $50? ;)

I had one of these for a while. I found that mine flexed way too much when stepping on my crybaby (which requires a hard push to turn on/off). It probably would have been ok if not for that.

They made a change a while back (not sure when) to put a bracket underneath, in the middle of the board. See my last pic of the underside, that flat metal bracket goes across the middle. It adds a lot of stability and makes it pretty rigid. I don't play live, so I don't step on it in a hurry or with a ton of force and it works fine for me.

I am away traveling at the moment, but will be back in a couple of days. I will give it a test and see how hard I can step before it flexes or if it still flexes at all. I also have a Go Pro camera arriving, so maybe this can be my first ever youtube post review :)

That would be rad. It's exactly what iplayloudly said that I'm concerned about. I REALLY have to lean on my wah to turn it ON/OFF and I like it like that.

Seriously, looks like 50lb and then it has to go inside a hardshell ata. 100lb pedalboard, no thanks haha.
