I am really fired up. I have been wanting to try the new PT100 for a while now.

I have one amp now, that's it, but I love it. The amp I have now is the SS100 that was sent to Dave to change to a BE type channel instead of SS, and turning the boost on the SS into the HBE, also got the negative feedback control and SAT switch. That is an EPIC amp, it sounds and plays great no matter what guitar is being used with it. I can only hope the PT100 will compliment it.

I am getting a new recording setup going and it would be awesome to have a couple amps that I love to use for different tones. I also got a UA Ox Box, and that will come in handy for late night guitar getting cranked tones, having access to a ton of different cabs, speakers, and mics, and then also the attenuator. What a cool device! Next up, I need to get my hands on the UA Apollo Twin, or maybe even that new Arrow interface?

Anyhow, back to the PT100, the demos I have seen Pete Thorn do all sounded great. A lot of great tones in that amp. I am hoping it has the touch sensitivity of my Friedman. I had a PT100 around 2010, and that version had the BEST clean channel on any high gain channel changer type amp I have played, by a mile. Hopefully that remained the same.

So, I am really excited to start recording some new songs. I have a friend that I write music with, and who I have been writing music with for many years. We have been trying to find a singer we like for a long time, and in LA, during the late 90s and early 2000's we auditioned many, and some who were in very successful bands in the past, and never found anyone we were truly fired up on. So, now that we are a bit older, we are going to try and create a studio band. We have top LA studio drummers who have already said they would be stoked to play on the initial demos. We have a killer bassist lined up, but still have to find a singer we are stoked on. Maybe we will find one? That would be awesome.

Got a stock SS100 and the PTSE.
The PT takes a lot of tweaking due a wide range of tones available, the SS is much more of a specialist.
The PT clean is as good with a bit more to it due more gain and the added boost.
PT gain not too sparkly, a bit flat maybe, but takes pedals very well. I found it comes alive with high setting on the rear presence control.
Take you time with it.
