Just a quick demo of my PRS SE Korina with stock pickups doing high-gain tones at low volume.
Mostly just playing chords and riffs from current songs I'm working on and improvising leads.
My 1 year old boy was lurking around behind the camera so you'll probably hear him in there as well.

Recorded with my Zoom H4n portable recorder.

Enjoy. :-)

Shit, now I'm gassing for a Peters preamp with the Gryphon dirty channel!

The Gryphon is super versatile man.
The clean channel is the best in the business IMO.
But yeah, I'm biased. :D

Yeah, I listened to the "Halo" soundclips and they are killer! And the Gryphon channel seems like a perfect mix of that familiar vintage tone we all love, but is also able to get pretty mean sounding for the modern stuff. I can't believe I didn't look into these amps earlier. Thanks for the clip!

Sounds amazing! Especially around 4:12. Has a certain compression to it that reminds me of Diezel in a way.

Sounds great. Lots of gain yet very defined
Thanks man.
Yeah the Gryphon is extremely articulate and clear even with gobs of gain.

I actually spend more time playing on my amp's Halo channel than I do on the Gryphon channel.
Amazing cleans to be found there.

And the Gryphon channel is just killer.
That thick, throaty, vintage flavour is so unique in a high-gainer.
It's my holy-grail of amps.

Yeah the Gryphon is very dynamic.
Really responds to how you attack the strings.

Great stuff

What speakers are you running?
Is the amp boosted?

Just curious, do you think the 'Peters Gryphon' was named after Peter Griffin?

I'm running a mix of Celestion's G12H30 Anniversary and Vintage 30 in each cab.
So with both cabs running they are in an X-Pattern.

And yep I was hitting the front end with a modded Maxon OD9 set as a clean-boost.
I could get the same tone without the boost using the amps controls, but I hate screwing my settings.
I have my amp set up for a medium to heavy crunch with a bit of sag for my church gigs, and then if I want heavier and tighter I hit it with the boost so I don't have to change the settings.
Essentially makes my 2 channel amp a 4 channel:
Clean.
Clean with boost.
Overdrive.
Overdrive with boost.

There is a story behind that but I can't quite recall how it goes.
James Peters will give you the guts behind the story if you chat to him about his amps.

Haha yeah Blackwater Park.
Didn't realize I'd slipped that in there.
I also started playing a riff from Dream Theater's Home somewhere in the middle.
Forgot to edit those out.

Man that amp sounds great!! Great playing as usual as well
