eBay "non-payment" from mister_sister & can't do a thing abo

During the whole countdown I saw where two of the FAS "higher ups" were selling their Axe-fx's J (eBay) and V (FAS forum) where selling their Axe-fx Ultras... One of them was "called out" and then they both removed their "items" and any trace of said posts... I put two and two together and decided to sell my Axe-fx Ultra during the countdown...

I was "fortunate" enough to sell my Axe-fx Ultra during the countdown to some guy named mister_sister several days before the countdown ended but 30 minutes later he tells me that he mom just passed away and if I could give him a couple of days to pay for the Ultra... my first thought was... "why the heck are you bidding on my item then?" Well, I went ahead and gave him the benefit of the doubt since he had 100% feedback on eBay... I send him an invoice several days later and he turns around and says he will not have the funds to buy the Ultra because he has to pay 5000 for funeral expenses on his 87 year old mother... I told him "I'm sorry for your loss but you still need to pay for the item that you purchased"... he then said he wouldn't pay for it... did some research and it turns out that you can't do anything about this type of situation... not even give the guy negative feedback!!! WTF!!!??!?!?!?!?

So now I'm "stuck" with an Axe-fx Ultra with firmware 11.00 that has lost at least $600 in value to what I sold it for... good news is that I had just purchased the same power amp that Cliff uses with his Axe-fx's, which is the Carvin F1200... I don't know whether it's the Carvin F1200, firmware 11.00 or a combination of both but... my Axe-fx Ultra setup sound freaking KILLER!!!!!!!! I was initially blown away with the SOLO100 amp sim but have since move on the the massive sounding FAS Modern (again...)

I'm sure the Axe-fx II sounds gobs better than the Axe-fx Std/Ultra 10.xx... but I just don't know how much better the Axe-fx II will really sound when compared to what I'm hear with the Ultra on firmware 11.00 with the Carvin... it sounds HHHHUUUUGGGEEE!!!

P.S. I have the sneaky suspicion that mister_sister will be getting an Axe-fx II in the near future...

Its bullshit! Ebay sucks!!

I have had only one bad experience on eBay with a someone called thetoneyard I believe. Payed $100 and got nothing for it. I then opened a case against him on eBay and he refunded my money. The refund was pending for 5 days an then the refund failed which probably means HE HAS NO FREAKING MONEY! I then called eBay customer support to see if I could get my money back and they said they would get me my money back within 7 days....I got NOTHING! I have since given up and decided just to let the bastard get away with it. In short...eBay sucks!

Yeah Ebay sucks. As a seller you can't leave buyers neg. feedback anymore. I sold a new box of bridle rings.I had a picture of the box with the part # and thread size clear as day in the photo. The guy buys it then leaves me negative feedback saying i didn't list the thread size in the description. He never once contacted me. Just a neg feedback. I said WTF the thread size was clear as day on the photo of the box, google the damn part number before you buy or ask me. he said he didnt look at the picture, so somehow that's my fault. anyway i get a neg. feedback,nothing i can do. I can't even leave him a negative. but what I did do was leave him a positive feedback with a nasty comment. So now i have 270 positives and 1 negative.I'm waiting for him to list something and i'm going to bid,not pay and leave him a shitty feedback.

That really is crap. Just nothing you can do about it!!? Seriously! What the hell!?

Ask him for a copy of the Death Certificate.

Yeah...I get really pissed too when I can't unload a piece of gear thats just about to take a shit value wise to some poor bastard still in the dark. I know what ya mean...I don't think "I" should have to take the hit on anything and everybody else should eat it..

Difference was that I was selling my Axe-fx Ultra without knowing that the Axe-fx 2 was coming out... I just took a chance... It would have been a different story if I was one of the folks who DID know and tried to sell theirs before the ball dropped... So yes I was pissed.

It's all good..I'll give ya $500 for it.

Sux but nothing you can do about it. You can't force someone to pay. I've been selling on ebay for quite a few years and every once in awhile you get someone who bids and then doesn't pay. Nothing you can do but re-list. Unfortunately you are now caught up in the fractal screwing of their customers. I think it was very un-professional how they did the countdown thing. They should have announced the new product and given a release date a few months in advance. Pretty poor judgement and a bad decision if you ask me. I sold my standard, took the loss, and now I don't think I will invest any of my hard earned cash in this company. It's a great product, but there are other options out there. So you might as well either keep it if you like it or sell it and take the loss now.

i have never seen such blind faith in a new product. Especially one that is not even available yet.

So you are saying Cliff should have operated an entire 2 months without being able to make a singe sale because he should announce that a new product is coming out??? Dude, whatever you do, if you open your own business, and operate like this....you will be out of business VERY FAST...


Sorry the OP got screwed man...but at least you didnt send him the gear and THEN get screwed for the money via paypal charge back or some other nonsense....
