Mysterious buzzing emanating from SL-68

This is very strange, but there's an audible buzzing that's coming out of my SL-68.

It's not coming through the speakers, but rather from inside the head itself. Of course, it can be drowned out by shear volume if you're playing through a speaker cabinet but when using it at home with a Reactive Load, it's actually noticeable at low volumes (and totally annoying). Its loud enough to be heard at TV volumes.

I assumed it was a screw loose or something, but oddly enough it seems to resonate differently with what I play as if why I play somehow affects it. What inside the amp would respond like that?

Anyone even come across such a thing?

Thanks,

Yes you are hearing the output transformer.. that's normal. Driving a amp hard into a load does this, you just don't normally here it with a cab because of volume.

Ok, wow. Learn something new everyday.

I just checked it again over lunch and it 100% changes pitch along with the note I play.

That right?
